Lake Macquarie City covers 648 square kilometres, and the lake in the middle of it is about twice the size of Sydney Harbour, with 174 kilometres of shoreline. It reaches the ocean through a permanently open entrance at Swansea. Away from the water it's mostly a city of houses: at the 2021 Census, 85.2% of occupied homes in the council area were separate houses. For an electrician that means most jobs here are on a home's own switchboard, meter and wiring, not a shared one in a strata block.
The north of the lake
Charlestown, Cardiff and Warners Bay sit closest to our base, so this is where most same-day quotes and repairs happen.
The western shore
Toronto is the far edge of our run. We group jobs on that side of the water into the same day so nobody waits on the drive.
The eastern shore to the entrance
Belmont down to Swansea, where homes near the water and the beaches get outdoor lights and power points rated for salt and spray.
