Sample review
Four fans in a fibro cottage with barely any roof space. No mess, no extra holes, and they swept up after themselves.

Working in Belmont
Belmont's housing runs from lakeside fibro cottages to new duplexes, and the wiring inside them is just as mixed.
Belmont sits on the eastern shore of Lake Macquarie, strung along the Pacific Highway between Jewells and Marks Point. A lot of the homes off the highway and down toward the lake were built in the 1950s and 60s, and many still have their original meter boxes and ceramic fuses. Salt air off the lake and the coast is hard on outdoor power points and lighting, so weather-rated fittings matter more here than in the suburbs further inland.

What we do here
Switchboard upgrades, safety switches and rewiring for the post-war cottages between the highway and the lake.
Switchboard Upgrades →Fit-offs, downlights, data points and EV charger circuits planned before the plasterboard goes up.
EV Charger Installation →Lighting, emergency exit lights and testing for the small businesses on Belmont's main strip.
FAQ
No. Belmont is about 15 minutes from our base in Charlestown, inside our standard service area. Quotes are free here like everywhere else, and the call-out fee for emergencies and fault-finding is the same as in Newcastle.
It isn't illegal, but ceramic fuses give no protection against electric shock. A switchboard upgrade adds safety switches to every circuit, and it's usually done in a day.
Yes. Close to the lake and the coast we use marine-grade or IP-rated fittings and stainless fixings, so they don't corrode within a couple of years.
Yes. Many of the 1950s and 60s cottages between the highway and the lake still run on their original wiring. We test it first and quote a part or full rewire. Older fibro sheeting can contain asbestos, so we only cut or drill it to the safe-work rules.
Yes. We plan the downlights, data points and an EV charger circuit with your builder before the plasterboard goes up, which costs far less than chasing cables through finished walls later.
Yes. Exit and emergency lights in a shop need a discharge test every six months under AS/NZS 2293. We test them, log the results for your records and replace any failed fittings on the same visit.
